About Me

I am a grateful Californian, originally from Canada. The bright sun here in California feeds my soul and definitely raises my spirits! I love nature, art, spending time with friends, contemplation, drawing & painting, and just about anything relating to mental health and humor that you can think of. (An odd combination, those two!)

In a past life I treated children, teenagers and adults as a Psychiatric Social Worker. That was enough 'heaviness' for a couple of lifetimes, I decided, being a workaholic and all. But, I enjoyed it & it was so meaningful. There is no substitute for thinking knowing that someone's life is better because you spent a little time on the proverbial 'bus' with them, tool box in hand. For this experience, I am most grateful.

Awhile back, I studied like a nerd & became fully trained in Website Design from the University of California at Davis. And heck, I'm even proud to say that I somehow managed to learn a little hard-core programming, Well, that and quite a lot of web development (coding), & animation too.

My 'day job' is as an illustrator; and humor is my genre of choice, though I do have some thoughts about possibly creating 'Christian-oriented' artwork for.....who knows what purposes? Anyway, now I'm into writing and illustrating a children's book, which is enormous fun! Work for children is such a treat because the artist can be so imaginative, and no one thinks you are strange or weird or disturbed. (Well, within limits of course. ;-) It's a bit like the old saying about a person wishing to become a parent, because the opportunity to be drawn in to play is always at the ready!

I have wonderful, long-term friends, and they make my day ~ every day. Welcome to my world!
